Grazia d'Asporto

Grazia d'Asporto is the takeaway extension of the much-loved Grazia Restaurant in Glen Iris. With the dine-in venue already established, the new brand needed to feel like a natural continuation while having its own personality. The challenge was to capture the warmth and heritage of Italian food while playfully exploiting the tired deli clichés, creating an identity that felt rooted in culture yet unmistakably contemporary.

We reinterpreted the visual tropes of the Italian deli through a contemporary lens. The classic red and white tablecloth was refined into a Tuscan Red and Porcelain White grid, while a bespoke wordmark, inspired by Roman mosaic signage, gave the brand a distinctive centrepiece. Typography became the core of the system, with the creation of D'Asporto Display, a custom typeface complete with embedded icons that allowed the brand to extend seamlessly across menus, signage, packaging and digital touchpoints.

Grazia d'Asporto transforms cultural familiarity into design sophistication. Instead of nostalgia, the brand celebrates history through a satirical lens. The grid, the palette and the mosaic-inspired typography work together to create a visual language that is authentic and modern, embodying the warmth of Italian food culture in a polished grab-and-go format.
